Christmas Party December 2008 This year's Christmas party was again a smashing success. Santa stopped in on his regular rounds and all of the children had the chance to sit on his knee and share their wish lists. The country foods feast was enjoyed by all. Thank you to all who brought a dish to share! Our Christmas Feast was followed by games and an improvised Christmas concert by some of our youth. EICS would like to extend special thanks to our sponsors who donated monies that made this party possible, including Dow Chemical Canada ULC, Norterra, Nunasi Corporation, Canadian North, Tungasuvvingat Inuit, Inuvialuit Regional Corporation and Weldco-Beales Mfg. See their logos on our new sponsors page. Capital Ex July 2008 Edmonton Inuit Cultural Society (EICS) would like to extend a special Thank You to Canadian North for graciously sponsoring the Society's initiative with Northlands to bring entertainers down from the North to participate in the Capital Ex Aboriginal Showcase Kiyânâw. Throat Singers Florintine Voisey and Charlotte Kuksuk & Drum Dancer Tom Makpah graced the main stage with their performances twice daily and were received warmly by the audience. In addition to these entertainers, the Kiyânâw audience was treated to a fashion show featuring members of EICS as the models. This clothing was graciously loaned to EICS for Capital Ex by Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada, and we would like to recognize them for helping us to showcase these beautiful clothes and share them with the Edmonton community.
